Attention: This plate will replace the current plate on your vehicle. The new plate will come with a replacement registration. This does not automatically renew your registration. When you are selecting your “Current Registration Status” this is for your current registration. When uploading the picture of the front of your Drivers License please make sure the picture is clear.

Lighthouses played a critical role in Florida’s history; making it possible to explore, settle and develop Florida by using its 1350 miles of coastline (second only to Alaska in states with longest coastline). Only 30 lighthouses remain today. A 2002 study done by the State of Florida estimated that it will take almost $20 million dollars to preserve these towers. Florida Lighthouse Association is a nonprofit organization. Financial support comes from charitable gifts, membership dues, and the Florida State specialty license plate sales. FLA does not receive any government funding! The annual use fees go to the Florida Lighthouse Association, Inc., to fund the preservation, restoration, and protection of the 29 historic lighthouses remaining in the state. Florida's specialty license plate program allows drivers to purchase creative and unique license plates that support specific organizations and causes. Proceeds from these plates benefit the organizations they are associated with. The personalized license plate program in Florida allows for Florida drivers to customize their license plate with original combinations of letters and or numbers.
Things to remember when personalizing a Specialty License plate
Personalization Availability: Make sure to check availability of the personalization you are requesting. If you do not, and the personalization you request is not available your order will be delayed while we attempt to reach you.
Character Types: Personalized plates can use letters, numbers, or a combination of both. No specialty characters of any kind are allowed.
Objectionable Content: Our clerks as well as the DHSMV can reject any personalized plate configuration deemed offensive, obscene, or inappropriate.
LEASE VEHICLE NOTICE: All leased vehicles requesting a specialty plate must submit a copy of the valid lease agreement for the vehicle that the specialty license plate is being attached to. To process a specialty plate request for a leased vehicle please make sure to include a complete copy of the lease when entering your specific vehicle information.
